Nearly 8,000 Afghan migrants deported from Iran and Pakistan in one day

The commission stated in an announcement that these migrants entered the country on Sunday (August 23) through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.

According to Taliban statistics, 4,515 individuals were deported from Pakistan and 3,350 from Iran, returning to the country.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of this year, thousands of Afghan citizens have been deported from Iran and Pakistan back to the country.

The International Organization for Migration has previously warned against the mass return of migrants from neighboring countries and called for immediate support for the returnees.

According to the organization's statistics, since September 2023, more than four million Afghan citizens have returned to the country from Iran and Pakistan.

The Taliban's Supreme Commission for Addressing Migrants' Issues has announced that 7,865 migrants from the country were deported from Iran and Pakistan in a single day.
