Pakistan's midnight bombing in Khost; At least 9 children and a woman killed

According to reports, Pakistani forces bombed the home of one of the local residents named Wilayat Khan in the Gerbaz district of Khost province around 12 midnight, as a result of which 9 children (5 boys and 4 girls) and one woman lost their lives, and their home was destroyed.

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban, on Tuesday, November 25, in a post on social media, while publishing images of the victims of the Khost incident, confirmed these attacks. He said Pakistan also carried out attacks in Kunar and Paktika provinces, as a result of which four civilians were wounded.

These attacks come one day after two suicide bombings in Peshawar, Pakistan, killed three paramilitary soldiers.

It is worth noting that Taliban fighters clashed with Pakistani border forces in October, during which dozens from both sides were killed; this incident was the most intense confrontation between the two countries since the Taliban returned to power in 2021.

After that, the two sides agreed to a ceasefire in Doha in October; however, peace talks in Turkey collapsed without reaching a long-term agreement due to disagreements over extremist groups opposed to Pakistan that operate inside Afghanistan.

Following fresh Pakistani airstrikes on Afghanistan, last night in Khost province, 9 children and one woman from a family were killed, and in Kunar and Paktia provinces, four others were wounded.
