Ashraf Ghani: Political domination has led Afghanistan to failure

He emphasized that "talent is not inherited" and that only people-centric systems and the tradition of jirgas can provide a sustainable solution to Afghanistan's crises.

Recalling past experiences, Ghani added that excessive centralization of power or, conversely, decentralization, have both been reasons for the country's historical failures. According to him, the lack of balance between the central government and the provinces has always been a source of instability.

He explained that governors who remained in their positions for years sometimes considered separating from the central government or creating parallel structures.

The former president identified achieving political and economic stability as Afghanistan's most critical need, stating: "Disorder, division, arbitrariness, and the absence of clear principles have been the main obstacles to the country's progress."

In conclusion, Ghani emphasized that overcoming the current crises is only possible through people's participation, strengthening indigenous traditions such as jirgas, and establishing a real balance between the center and the provinces.

Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the former president of Afghanistan, in his latest podcast, criticized hereditary and legacy systems, stating these methods lack the ability to address the country's problems.
