Putin and Trump meet; White House says meeting will take place in Alaska

Mr. Trump, on Saturday, 18 Asad, stated in a note on X that this meeting will take place in the state of Alaska.

Following this announcement, the Kremlin also confirmed in a statement that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, the Presidents of the United States and Russia, will meet on Friday, August 15, in Alaska.

Yuri Ushakov, Putin's aide, said: "Russia and the United States are close neighbors that share a border. It seems entirely logical that our delegation would simply fly across the Bering Strait to hold the important meeting of the leaders of the two countries in Alaska."

Putin's aide added that the Russian President, in his meeting with his American counterpart, will discuss ways to peacefully resolve the long-term Ukraine crisis.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has announced that he will meet with Vladimir Putin on Friday, 24 Asad.
