Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Meets with Taliban Ambassador in Tashkent

According to a statement from Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry, Mr. Saidov, in the meeting held on Friday (20 Saratan), emphasized his country’s support for sustainable development in Afghanistan.


The statement also noted that Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister stressed the integration of the Taliban into relations with regional and global countries.


Bakhtiyor Saidov stated that deepening economic cooperation, strengthening connectivity, and promoting dynamic partnerships can contribute to stability and sustainable prosperity in the region.


Over the past nearly four years, Uzbekistan has established close relations with the Taliban; however, it has not yet officially recognized the group.

Bakhtiyor Saidov, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, discussed cooperation with Afghanistan during a meeting with Abdul Ghafar Tarawi, the Taliban’s ambassador in Tashkent.
