A former soldier was murdered in Kabul.

According to the sources, this former military officer was killed on Tuesday (17 Saratan) in the Kart-e-Naw area of Kabul.

The sources identified the individual as Obaidullah Panjshiri and added that he was originally from Jangalak village, in the central district of Panjshir province, but had been living in the old Macrorayan area of Kabul for the past 35 years.

Based on the sources' information, Obaidullah Panjshiri had served for many years in the ranks of the former security forces and had no personal enmity with anyone.

The motive and circumstances of this killing remain unclear so far, and the Taliban have not yet commented on the matter.

It is worth mentioning that over the past nearly four years, Taliban fighters have consistently been accused of killing, detaining, and torturing former military personnel.

Local sources in Kabul say that a former officer of the Ministry of Interior was killed by unknown individuals in the city.
