Taliban arrest doctor for running ultrasound course for girls in Herat

According to sources, this doctor was arrested on Thursday, November 12, by the Taliban for holding an ultrasound course for girls and was transferred to an undisclosed location.

Taliban local officials have not yet commented on this matter.

This action comes at a time when, in recent weeks, the Taliban has imposed extensive restrictions on female doctors at Herat Provincial Hospital and required female doctors and patients to wear chadors.

Following the Taliban's return to power, girls above the sixth grade have been banned from attending schools, and female students have also been prohibited from attending universities.

Local sources in Herat announced that the Taliban's Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has arrested Farid Hoyda, the person in charge of the ultrasound and echocardiography department at Herat Provincial Hospital.
