Taliban Minister: Pakistan should learn from the fate of America and Russia in Afghanistan

In a message addressed to Khawaja Asif, Pakistan’s Defense Minister, he said it would be wiser for Islamabad to learn from the bitter experiences of global powers in Afghanistan, including the United States and Russia. Noori, referencing the geographical ties between the two countries, added that unlike foreign powers, Pakistan is Afghanistan’s direct neighbor, and in the event of conflict, the consequences would not be confined to one side alone.

In a critical tone, he asked Pakistan’s Defense Minister: “Are you certain that your men and youth will stand by your side?”

These remarks come as talks between Taliban officials and Pakistan in the city of Istanbul have ended in failure. Earlier, Khawaja Asif had warned that if the negotiations failed, his country might resort to direct military confrontation with the Taliban.

Noorullah Noori is a well-known Taliban figure who, following the collapse of the group’s regime in 2001, was detained in Pakistan and held for a time in the Guantanamo Bay detention facility.

Noorullah Noori, the Taliban’s Minister of Borders and Tribes, issued a stern warning against Pakistan, stating that Islamabad should not consider its military might the sole measure of power and should not test the patience of the Afghan people.
