Hamas announced that the movement's senior leaders survived.

On Tuesday, 18 Sunbula, Hamas confirmed in its first official statement that at least six people, including the son and an aide of Khaled Haniyeh, a senior leader of the movement, as well as a Qatari security officer, were killed in the attack.


Hamas described the attack as “a heinous crime, a blatant aggression, and a gross violation of all international norms and laws,” stating that Israel’s aim was to disrupt prisoner exchange negotiations and ceasefire talks to end the war on Gaza, a war that has so far claimed over 64,000 victims.


Suhail al-Hindi, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, emphasized in an interview with Al Jazeera that “the movement’s top leadership has survived” and added that Hamas also holds the United States responsible for the attack.


Qatar condemned the attack, describing it as “a blatant violation of national sovereignty and security.” Additionally, several countries and international organizations, including the United Nations, the European Union, Turkey, Egypt, Germany, Iran, and the United Kingdom, have reacted and condemned Israel’s actions.

The Palestinian Hamas movement announced that its leaders survived an Israeli assassination attempt in’s capital, Doha.
