The body of a tribal elder was found after being detained by the Taliban in Samangan.

According to these sources, Taliban fighters entered Mr. Niazi’s house two days ago and took him away without providing any specific reason.

Based on the information from sources, this tribal elder had a brief contact with his family only two hours after his detention, stating that he was being held by the Taliban.

However, the Taliban have not yet commented on the matter; but the relatives of this tribal elder hold the group responsible for his death.

Reports indicate that over the past two weeks, the Taliban’s intelligence department in Aybak city has detained dozens of people without any charges, and the fate of some of them remains unknown.

Local sources in Samangan say that the body of Mohammad Akbar Niazi, a prominent tribal elder and head of the Khormiha Council, was found on Saturday, 20 Saur, in the outskirts of Aybak city after his detention by Taliban intelligence fighters.
