Taliban announce sale of around 700 kilograms of Kunar bluestone

The department, on Wednesday, 18 Saratan, stated in a published statement that this amount of turquoise stone was sold through an auction.


Mohammad Shirin Haqqani, the head of the Taliban’s Department of Mines and Petroleum in Kunar, said that ten percent of the revenue from the sale of these stones, amounting to 5.5 million Afghanis, has been transferred to the Taliban’s treasury.


The Taliban’s Department of Mines and Petroleum had previously announced the sale of 56,639 kilograms of extracted stones from Kunar’s mines for 65 million Afghanis.


It is worth mentioning that the Taliban, since regaining control over Afghanistan, have resorted to the uncontrolled extraction and sale of precious stones, natural resources, and underground reserves.


According to experts, the Taliban are seeking to generate government revenue by auctioning off Afghanistan’s precious stones, natural resources, and underground reserves.

The Taliban’s Department of Mines and Petroleum announced in a statement that they sold 688.18 kilograms of turquoise stone from this province for 54.5 million Afghanis.
