Amrullah Saleh: Taliban regime will fall without US cash aid

On Tuesday, 4th of Sunbula, Mr. Saleh wrote in a post on the social media platform X that this agreement, signed by Zalmay Khalilzad and endorsed by the U.S. administration at the time, paved the way for the Taliban's dominance. According to him, Joe Biden strengthened and brought the Taliban to power to showcase a "fabricated victory."

Saleh emphasized that Khalilzad's signature remains an "open wound" for the Afghan people, and no legal action was taken against him during Donald Trump's presidency.

He also referred to questions directed at Trump, stating that during his presidency, tens of millions of dollars were given to the Taliban weekly. According to Saleh, this process has continued "covertly and suspiciously" even after Biden's withdrawal.

Saleh noted: "Biden is history and will not return; but Trump must explain why financial support for the Taliban continues."

He further clarified that if foreign support for the Taliban were to stop, the group would collapse quickly, as, in his words, "it has brought nothing but isolation and disgrace to Afghanistan."

These statements come as Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized the Biden administration for the manner of the U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan and the implementation of the Doha Agreement.

Amrullah Saleh, the former Vice President of Afghanistan, citing an official document released by the White House, has described the Doha Agreement as an "organized plan against the Afghan nation."
