Taliban demands investigation into Pakistan's possible role in White House shooting

Suhail Shaheen, the Taliban's representative in Qatar, stated that no possibility can be ruled out and that the final conclusion must be determined based on a professional investigation.

India's News18 news agency reported that Suhail Shaheen has been tasked with issuing the Taliban's official stance on this matter. He emphasized that Afghan soil should not be used for attacks abroad.

In response to questions about the potential role of Pakistan's intelligence services, Shaheen said this possibility cannot be dismissed; however, it requires investigation. He added that Pakistan is attempting to undermine the Taliban's credibility and portray Afghans as a security threat.

Regarding Taliban-India relations, he stated that these ties are shaped by national interests and historical precedent. Shaheen also attributed reactions to potential US tightening of Afghan immigration processes to decisions in Washington.

In this incident, Rahmanullah Laknawala, an Afghan citizen, opened fire on two US National Guard soldiers, one of whom succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Following the shooting of two US National Guard soldiers by an Afghan refugee, the Taliban has called for an impartial investigation into the possibility of Pakistan's involvement in the incident.
