Iran, China, Russia and Pakistan to discuss Bagram in Moscow today

According to sources, this meeting will take place on Monday (14 Mizan) in Moscow, the capital of Russia.

It is said that one of the main focuses of this meeting will be opposition to the establishment of any foreign military bases within Afghanistan. Additionally, discussions will cover the formation of an inclusive national government, the release of Afghanistan’s frozen assets, and the consideration of travel exemptions for Taliban officials.

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry has announced that the “Moscow Format” meeting is scheduled for Tuesday (15 Mizan), with the participation of representatives from several regional countries and Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s Foreign Minister.

This comes as Donald Trump, the U.S. President, has previously demanded control over the Bagram base, warning the Taliban that “bad things” would happen if they did not hand it over. He described the Bagram base as crucial for monitoring China’s nuclear activities and, despite his threatening tone, expressed hope that an agreement could be reached with the Taliban regarding it.

Reliable sources confirm that representatives from Iran, Russia, China, and Pakistan are set to hold discussions regarding the Bagram base.
