Taliban Culture Chief: Around 600,000 Refugees Have Entered Afghanistan in the Last 20 Days


Ahmadullah Muttaqi, on Monday, 23 Saratan, stated in a post on the social media platform X that of these, 234,907 individuals returned voluntarily, and 339,334 were forcibly deported.


According to this Taliban official, on Sunday alone, 22 Saratan, 21,037 migrants were deported from Iran to Afghanistan.


The head of information and culture of the Taliban in Herat said that the responsible institutions of this group and the people at the Islam Qala border provide necessary services for the returning migrants and transfer them to their original areas after registration and assistance.


This comes at a time when, coinciding with the end of Israel's attacks on Iran, the deportation and detention of Afghan migrants by the Islamic Republic have increased at an unprecedented rate.

The head of information and culture of the Taliban in Herat and the official responsible for information and public awareness of this group's commission for addressing migrants' issues announced that in the past 22 days, 574,241 migrants have entered Afghanistan from Iran.
