Executions escalate in Iran; Two Afghan citizens executed by Islamic Republic

This human rights organization, on Friday, 10th of Asad, stated in a published statement that the execution of these two Afghan citizens was carried out in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.


The human rights organization Hengaw announced on Friday, 10th of Asad, that recently seven individuals have been executed across Iran, among whom were two Afghan citizens who were executed on Thursday.


No details are available regarding the identity of these individuals; the authorities of the Islamic Republic have also not commented on the matter.


The human rights organization Hengaw had previously announced that in the past month, following the establishment of a ceasefire between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel, at least six Afghan citizens have been executed.


According to statistics, since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, the execution of Afghan citizens in Iran has significantly increased; however, the Taliban have so far taken no practical or effective action in this regard.

The human rights organization Hengaw, in a statement, wrote that two Afghan citizens have been executed by the Islamic Republic of Iran on charges related to drug offenses.
