Armed attack in Helmand; Two Taliban members killed

The incident occurred on Sunday night, 30 Sunbula, in the Regi area of Musa Qala district.

According to sources, following the attack, the Taliban arrested and killed two individuals associated with Qayyum Zakir, the deputy minister of defense of the group.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the matter.

Additionally, sources say that after the ban on poppy cultivation in Helmand, opposing armed groups have been secretly operating in the northern parts of the province.

According to sources, opposition from armed individuals against the Taliban has emerged in many areas of Helmand, with the main reason being the "discriminatory prohibition" on poppy cultivation.

These developments occurred a few days after Qayyum Zakir's visit to assess the security situation in some areas of Helmand.

Local sources in Helmand say that two Taliban members were killed and one other was injured in an attack by unidentified armed individuals.
