The 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup will start in Qatar

This is a historic edition, as for the first time, 48 teams will participate in the tournament; a number that means more matches and greater excitement.

The competition will run from November 3 to November 27. The two opening matches will be between South Africa and Bolivia, as well as Costa Rica and the United Arab Emirates. The final match will also take place on November 27.

All matches up to the final stage will be held at the Sports City Stadium in Al Rayyan, near the city of Doha, and the final will be at Khalifa International Stadium; a stadium that also hosted six matches of the 2022 World Cup and has a capacity of 45,857 spectators.

This is the third time the U-17 World Cup has been held in the Arab world; previously, Egypt hosted in 1997 and the UAE in 2013. Qatar will also host the next four editions; thus, this is the first cup out of five consecutive editions in the country.

The group stage of the U-17 World Cup will be held from November 3 to 11, followed by the round of 32 on November 14 and 15. The round of 16 matches will take place on November 18, and the quarterfinal matches on November 21. The top teams will take the field in the semifinals on November 24, and finally, the competition will conclude with the third-place match and the final on November 27.

This is the first time the tournament will be held with 48 teams instead of 24. The teams are from six global confederations and will compete in 12 groups.

The new generation of world football stars is ready to shine; as the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup kicks off on Monday in Qatar.
