Taliban arrest three Radio Nasim employees again in Daikundi

Radio Nasim, in a post published on its Facebook page, stated that these three journalists were detained by Taliban intelligence fighters in the city of Nili on Wednesday afternoon (15 Asad).

According to this local radio station, Taliban intelligence forces also took the station’s broadcasting computer during the detention.

The main reason for the detention of these journalists remains unclear, and the Taliban have not commented on the matter.

It is worth mentioning that Sultan Ali Jawadi had previously been detained and sentenced to one year in prison on charges of collaborating with foreign media. Additionally, this local media outlet, which operates in Daikundi and Bamyan provinces, had previously halted its activities for five months following the detention of its director.

Over the past four years, the Taliban have imposed severe restrictions on the media and have repeatedly detained, suppressed, and tortured journalists.

According to statements from organizations supporting journalists, several journalists, including Shakib Ahmad Nazari, are currently in Taliban custody.

The local radio station “Nasim” in Daikundi has announced that the Taliban have once again detained Sultan Ali Jawadi, the director of Radio Nasim, along with Saifullah Rezaei and Mojtaba Qasemi, two journalists of the radio.
