Sources report arrest of former deputy of Panjshir Ulema Council by Taliban

According to sources, Maulvi Abdulmalik was arrested on Wednesday (18 Saratan) in a mosque in the 15th district of Kabul city.

He is a resident of Abdullah-Khel village in the Darah district of Panjshir Province and has served for years as the deputy of the Ulama Council of this province.

According to reports, Maulvi Abdulmalik was previously detained in 1401 by Taliban fighters on charges of having connections with the "Resistance Front"; however, he was released after two years.

Relatives of Mr. Abdulmalik deny any connection between him and the Resistance Front and are concerned that, due to baseless accusations, his life may be in danger or he may be harmed while in Taliban custody.

Sources in Kabul confirm that Maulvi Abdulmalik, former deputy of the Panjshir Province Ulama Council, has been detained by the Taliban.
