Saudi Arabia welcomes move by a number of countries to recognize Palestine

In this statement, Saudi Arabia described this action as a symbol of the serious commitment of friendly countries and an important step in support of peace.


Saudi Arabia expressed hope that other countries would take similar actions so that the Palestinian people can live in peace.


The United Kingdom, Portugal, Canada, and Australia officially recognized the Palestinian government on Sunday.


France and Belgium have also announced that they will recognize Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Saudi Arabia, in a statement, welcomed the recognition of Palestine by the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Portugal.
