Eight cricketers killed in Paktika after Pakistani airstrikes

According to sources, the incident occurred on Friday evening, 25 Mizan, when the players were traveling from the provincial center to the Argon district after completing a cricket match.


Sources added that the targeting of this group has caused heavy casualties and sparked deep concern among local residents.


Taliban authorities have not yet commented on the incident.


Previously, reports of suspected airstrikes in the Barmal and Argon districts of this province had also emerged.

Local sources in Paktika province confirm that at least eight athletes from Afghanistan’s cricket team have been killed and four others injured in an airstrike attributed to Pakistani forces.
