Araqchi: Return of UN sanctions will end Europe's role in Iran's nuclear case

According to one of the clauses of the "Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action" (JCPOA), signed in 2015 between Iran and world powers and terminated in 2018 by U.S. President Donald Trump, there is a possibility of reinstating UN sanctions in case of Iran's violation of the agreement.

Araghchi said: "Europe must determine the format of negotiations, the venue, the composition of participants, the topics to be discussed, and the guarantees it seeks from Iran to start negotiations."

He also emphasized that the focus of discussions with world powers should be limited solely to Iran's nuclear program, and the issue of the country's military capabilities should not be on the agenda.

Abbas Araghchi, Iran's Foreign Minister, warned that any reinstatement of UN sanctions against Iran would mean "the end of Europe's role in Iran's nuclear file."
