The Best Actress Award at the Pula Festival was presented to an Iranian-Afghan actress.

She earned this award for her performance in the film *Living Among the Gods*, a joint production of Serbian cinema.

The Pula International Film Festival, held since 1954 in one of Croatia’s most historic amphitheaters, took place this year with the participation of numerous artists and audiences.

Fereshteh Hosseini, who was not present at the closing ceremony, wrote in an Instagram post: “I dedicate this award to women who courageously fight for their rights; to girls who, in the heart of darkness, hold onto dreams of freedom; and to the fearless women of Afghanistan and Iran who stand resolute against discrimination and racism.”

Fereshteh Hosseini, who has shone in recent years with her remarkable performances in regional cinema, is now increasingly recognized as a voice for migrant, exiled, and resilient women in the world of art.
