Taliban reduce air freight charges to India after halting trade with Pakistan

Ariana Airlines, which operates under Taliban management, stated in a statement on Sunday (November 16) that starting Monday, each kilogram of goods will be exported to New Delhi at a rate of one dollar and imported in exchange for 80 cents.

Bakhyt Rahman Sharafat, head of Ariana Airlines, says that with the rates becoming cheaper, the company intends to deliver Afghanistan's products to the world at a lower cost.

Previously, Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban's deputy prime minister for economic affairs, called for severing trade relations with Pakistan and urged traders to seek alternative routes.

Meanwhile, following the escalation of tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan, the border crossings between the two countries have been closed to trade and transit for over a month.

Ariana Airlines announced that, based on the order of the Taliban deputy prime minister, the import and export rates for commercial goods with India have been reduced.
