Spenta: US finds Taliban better servants

On Monday (31 Sunbula), Mr. Spanta wrote in a post on his X account that with the coming and going of each master, each time worse than the last, oppression, destruction, and displacement befall the people of Afghanistan.

He emphasized that whether or not the Taliban and the U.S. reach an agreement regarding the Bagram base, it will not change the endless suffering of the Afghan people.

Spanta further wrote: “For nearly fifty years, every voice that rises from Moscow, Islamabad, and Washington stirs excitement in us; some of us become hopeful, while others are filled with fear.”

This former official considers the only path to the country’s salvation and liberation to be “relying on the boundless strength of the people, organization, spreading awareness, integrating various forms of struggle, and maintaining strategic patience.”

These statements come as Donald Trump, the U.S. president, recently spoke about retaking the Bagram base.

On Saturday, Trump demanded that the Taliban immediately hand over the Bagram base to the U.S., threatening that if the Taliban does not return the base, bad things will happen.

Rangin Dadfar Spanta, Afghanistan’s former foreign minister, in response to Trump’s recent remarks about retaking the B base, stated that the United States has now found Taliban to be better servants.
