Pakistan Defense Minister: Taliban supported by India in war with Pakistan

He claimed: "The Taliban are now effectively waging India's proxy war, and their decisions are made with the financial and political support of New Delhi."

In response to a question about the possibility of a lasting ceasefire between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Asif said he does not believe in the sustainability of this ceasefire and emphasized that the Taliban's behavior indicates that stability in the relations between the two countries is unlikely.

These statements come at a time when, in recent days, border tensions between Taliban forces and the Pakistani army along the Durand Line have led to bloody clashes.

However, Pakistan's Defense Minister remained silent in this interview about the role of terrorist groups supported by Islamabad, such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen, which have been carrying out terrorist activities against Indian citizens in Kashmir and other regions for years.

Political analysts say that while Pakistan accuses the Taliban of waging a proxy war, the same country has historically been a safe haven and the main supporter of the Taliban and dozens of regional extremist groups. They believe that Islamabad's duplicitous policies have now led to greater instability at the borders and increased violence against civilians in Afghanistan, Pashtuns, and Baloch.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan's Defense Minister, in an interview with Geo News, accused the Taliban of fighting in India's proxy war against Pakistan.
