UN: Eastern Afghan earthquake victims cannot survive winter without humanitarian aid

UNAMA, on Sunday, September 23, stated in a press release that Otunbayeva, during her trip to eastern Afghanistan, considered the role of women in providing humanitarian aid to earthquake victims essential and appreciated the efforts of the people in assisting the affected individuals.


UNAMA wrote that 139 million dollars are needed to help the earthquake victims in eastern Afghanistan and emphasized that without humanitarian assistance, families will endure a harsh winter.


It should be noted that following the recent earthquake in eastern Afghanistan, it has caused immense financial and human losses, and hundreds of families have been left homeless.

Rosa Otunbayeva, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Afghanistan, after a trip to the eastern part of the country, stated that the victims of the recent earthquake cannot survive the upcoming winter without humanitarian assistance.
