Afghan Media support Organization warns of forced expulsion of journalists from Pakistan

This organization announced in a press release on (Wednesday, November 4) that more than 300 journalists and media workers from the country have signed this letter.

The letter calls on the government of Pakistan to halt the detention and deportation of Afghan journalists and to provide the necessary conditions for ensuring their security and legal protections.

This media support organization has also urged the international community to expedite the process of issuing humanitarian visas, relocation and resettlement, and providing urgent assistance to journalists at risk.

The organization has warned that neglecting the situation of Afghan journalists in Pakistan could lead to a new humanitarian and media crisis.

In recent weeks, reports have emerged of an increase in the detention and deportation of Afghan refugees, particularly journalists and civil society activists, by Pakistani police.

The Afghanistan Media Support Organization (AMSO) has sent an official letter to the United Nations and international human rights organizations, calling for immediate action to support Afghan journalists residing in Pakistan.
