Taliban Revenge; Fayeq: Taliban Continue Killing Former Soldiers Without Stopping

Mr. Faiq, on Sunday (5th of Asad) in a post on the social media platform X, questioned the Taliban’s claims of ensuring security, peace, and general amnesty.

He wrote: “How can one trust the Taliban’s claims of ensuring security, peace, and ‘general amnesty’ when arbitrary detentions, inhumane torture, and targeted killings of former military personnel continue unabated?”

Nasir Ahmad Faiq added: “Killing unarmed and non-combatant individuals is in clear contradiction with Islamic teachings, the rules of international humanitarian law, and human conscience.”

Afghanistan’s representative to the United Nations says that the Taliban, with their oppression, injustice, killing of innocents, hostility toward knowledge and culture, deprivation of women and girls from their fundamental rights, and creation of fear and terror, can never govern.

It is worth noting that over the past four years, international organizations, the United Nations, and human rights institutions have repeatedly documented the detention, torture, and targeted killings of former forces by the Taliban.

Nasir Ahmad Faiq, Afghanistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, says that the Taliban have continued to detain, torture, systematically kill, and seek revenge against former military personnel.
