Torkham border crossing closed due to communications cut in Afghanistan

An official in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province told Pakistani media that the lack of digital communication on the Afghan side has disrupted administrative processes, and this has been the main reason for the closure of the border. According to him, Afghan authorities were unable to carry out routine tasks, leading to the decision to halt movement at the crossing.

Based on local media reports, some travelers, after entering Afghan territory, were sent back to Pakistan by Taliban forces due to the failure of border systems.

Local sources in Pakistan say the Torkham crossing, one of the most important borders between and Pakistan, has temporarily closed following widespread internet and telecommunication service disruptions in Afghanistan.
