Iran and Pakistan deported more than a thousand Afghan refugees in one day

According to the commission, 671 migrants were deported from Pakistan and 340 others from Iran. These migrants entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak, Baramcha, Islam Qala, and Silk Road border crossings.

International organizations have described the mass deportation of Afghan migrants from Iran and Pakistan as a violation of international laws and have warned that the forced return of migrants to Afghanistan under current conditions puts their lives and safety at risk.

The United Nations Security Council has also stated that the continued deportation of Afghan migrants is complicating efforts to deliver humanitarian aid in Afghanistan. According to statistics from the International Organization for Migration, in 2025, more than 1.5 million Afghans have returned to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan.

The Security Council emphasized that returnees are at risk of torture, cruel punishments, and inhumane treatment.

The Taliban commission for addressing migrants' issues has announced that on Saturday, 26 Mizan, Iran and Pakistan collectively deported 1,011 Afghan migrants from their territories.
