Targeted killings continue; Three Panjshir residents killed in past three days

According to the sources' information, the first victim, "Mukhtar," a resident of the village of "Zana" in Panjshir, was detained by the Taliban about a week ago. The sources say that he died under Taliban torture, and his body was handed over to his family a few days ago. Mukhtar was detained along with his two sons, who were released after a few days.


In another incident, reliable sources have confirmed that on Thursday evening (9 Asad), a Panjshiri athlete named "Tamjid" was shot and killed by unidentified individuals in the 315 area of Kabul city. According to the sources, Tamjid had recently returned to Afghanistan from Iran.


Likewise, on Friday (10 Asad), another young Panjshiri named "Samiullah," a resident of the first district of Panjshir, was killed by armed individuals wearing clothing similar to the Taliban's in the eleventh district of Kabul city. His relatives said that Samiullah was engaged in personal matters and had no enmity with anyone.


In the past four years, numerous cases of detention, torture, and targeted killings of Panjshir residents by the Taliban have been reported. Based on reports, the Taliban have detained more than 500 young people from this province on various charges during this period and have brutally killed some of them.

Local sources in Panjshir province say that in the past three days, at least three residents of this province have been killed in separate incidents by the Taliban or unidentified gunmen.
