Manchester City closes gap on Arsenal with 3-0 win over Liverpool

Erling Haaland, after missing a penalty early in the game, scored the first goal with a header; a goal that marks his 99th in the Premier League. Nico González registered the second for City with a shot that changed direction after hitting a defender, and Jeremy Doku made it 3-0 with a stunning strike from outside the penalty area.

This victory strengthened City's position as one of the main contenders for the title, while Liverpool's poor run of results continued. Liverpool experienced their fourth loss in the last five games with this defeat and dropped to lower positions in the table. Arsenal, who had been held to a 2-2 draw against Sunderland the day before, saw their lead over City reduced.

Jeremy Doku was one of the best players on the pitch and repeatedly put Liverpool's defenders under pressure with his speed and technique. In the first half, the referee awarded City a penalty after a VAR review due to an error by goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili on Doku; however, Haaland missed it. Nevertheless, Manchester City maintained complete control of the game throughout the match and once again demonstrated that they are Arsenal's most serious rival for the championship title.

Manchester City reduced the gap with Arsenal at the top of the English Premier League table to four points with a convincing 3-0 victory over Liverpool on Sunday. The match coincided with Pep Guardiola's 1,000th game as manager, and his players celebrated the occasion with a brilliant performance.
