Rescue operations continue in northern Gaza; thousands still missing under rubble

According to the organization’s officials, approximately 9,500 Palestinian citizens across Gaza remain missing. Rescue teams have so far managed to recover the bodies of 150 people from under the debris.

Simultaneously with the start of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, about 300,000 people have returned to Gaza City; however, due to the widespread destruction of homes and the lack of basic facilities, no shelter is available for them.

Reports indicate that during Israel’s military operations in recent months, over 700,000 residents of Gaza and northern areas were forced to flee their homes. Extensive airstrikes and the entry of ground forces into northern neighborhoods have completely devastated the city’s landscape and further worsened the humanitarian crisis.

The Gaza Civil Defense Organization has announced that search and rescue operations in the northern Gaza Strip are still ongoing. Rescue teams have been searching through the rubble caused by recent bombings since early this morning.
