Afghanistan's internet outage paralyzes Pakistani visa process

According to him, the embassy’s systems for registering and processing visa applications require internet access, and in its absence, the consular section is unable to provide services. Nizamani emphasized that until the internet is restored, the issuance of visas by the Pakistani embassy in Kabul will remain suspended.

This situation has arisen at a time when thousands of Afghan citizens visit the Pakistani embassy daily to obtain visas. The suspension of the visa process has created numerous difficulties for applicants and sparked fresh concerns among families intending to travel, seek medical treatment, pursue education, or visit relatives.

The nationwide internet outage in Afghanistan has not only disrupted people’s daily lives but has also posed significant challenges to diplomatic, commercial, and educational services.

Obaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan, has announced that the widespread internet outage in Afghanistan has halted the issuance of Pakistani visas for Afghan citizens.
