Human Rights Center: Deportation of Afghan refugees from Iran is a violation of human rights

On Monday (23 Saratan), the center issued a statement condemning the manner of migrant expulsions and called for independent investigations into the mistreatment of Afghan migrants.

In the statement, this human rights organization stated that migrants are separated from their families, and many of them, despite possessing legal documents, are immediately detained from their homes and workplaces and deported.

According to the center, this process occurs without adhering to due process principles, individual assessment of migrants’ conditions and documents, and without regard for potential dangers in Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan Human Rights Center emphasized that existing documents and evidence show that the deportation process is accompanied by violence, threats, interrogations, and humiliating treatment.

This organization described the Islamic Republic of Iran’s treatment of Afghan migrants and refugees as “inhumane” and stressed that these actions are in conflict with the fundamental principles of international law.

The Afghanistan Human Rights Center, referring to the widespread expulsion of Afghan migrants from Iran, announced that this process constitutes a systematic violation of human rights.
