UN: Three million Afghan citizens may return home this year

Arafat Jamal, the head of this organization, said on Friday (20 Saratan) during a press conference that this process has placed significant pressure on the existing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.

He stated that the widespread, degrading, and unplanned return of Afghan migrants imposes additional strain on a country that, despite its willingness to accept them, is not fully prepared.

This UN official added that since the beginning of this year, more than 1.6 million Afghan citizens have returned from Iran and Pakistan to their country.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Afghanistan has announced that up to three million Afghan migrants may return to their country by the end of this year.
