Afghan asylum seeker arrested in US on charges of 'terrorist threat'

This ministry says Al-Khozi published a video on TikTok showing him in the process of building a bomb to target the Fort Worth area in the state of Texas.

According to this ministry's report, Al-Khozi had entered the United States on September 7, 2022, through the "Welcome Allies" program, and on the past Tuesday—one day before the shooting of National Guard members in Washington by an Afghan suspect—he was detained by Texas security forces and the FBI. He is currently being held at the Tarrant County Correctional Center.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in response, stated: "We will not allow terrorists to live on our soil," and announced that under the leadership of President Trump, all immigration and refugee applications from Afghan citizens have been "suspended until further notice."

Videos published on social media show Al-Khozi, in conversations with users, threatening to build bombs and carry out suicide attacks in the United States.

The White House spokesperson also described this incident as part of the "national security crisis" and stated that the Trump administration will take more serious measures to counter domestic threats.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced that it has detained an Afghan refugee named Mohammad Dawood Al-Khozi on charges of "terrorist threat."
