TTP militants killed in Pakistani army operation in Bajaur

According to the army, among the deceased is a commander of this group named "Sajjad," known as "Abu Dharr."

In a statement released on Tuesday, November 18, the Pakistani army explained that these operations were carried out on November 11 and 12 (corresponding to 25 and 26 Saratan in the Afghan calendar, or 16 and 17 November in the Gregorian calendar) and emphasized that "counter-terrorism" actions will continue until the complete elimination of the last armed individuals.

Despite extensive cleanup operations, the Pakistani army has been unable to reduce the number of attacks by armed groups affiliated with the TTP and Baloch separatists. Following three rounds of failed talks between the Taliban and Pakistan, militant attacks in the border areas between the two countries have increased.

Pakistani security officials had previously asked the tribes of Bajaur to expel "foreign fighters," who, according to them, are mainly Afghan citizens, from the region. The Pakistani government claims that TTP members have safe havens in Afghan soil and that the Afghan Taliban assist them; an accusation that the Taliban has consistently denied.

The Pakistani army has announced that during two separate operations in the past two days in the Bajaur region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at least 23 members of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group have been killed.
