British Special Representative Warns of Food Insecurity in Afghanistan

Mr. Lindsay, on (Thursday, 22nd of Aqrab), released images announcing that he had held a meeting with the presence of Hamish Falconer, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom, and discussed food security in Afghanistan with key partners.


He warned that approximately 15 million people in Afghanistan are grappling with food insecurity.


The United Kingdom's Special Representative has called for urgent action to address food insecurity in Afghanistan, at a time when the World Food Programme had previously warned that hunger has engulfed the country and one in every five people is facing food shortages.


The World Food Programme has requested $555 million to support the most vulnerable families in Afghanistan.

Richard Lindsay, the United Kingdom's Special Representative for Afghanistan, expressed concern over the food insecurity situation in the country and called for urgent and collective action to combat hunger.
