26 killed after passenger bus overturns on Kabul-Kandahar highway

According to sources, the incident occurred in the early morning of (Wednesday, 5th of Sunbula) in the Arghandi area on the Kabul-Kandahar highway.


Based on the information, 26 people lost their lives in this incident, and several others were injured.


Sources add that the bus was traveling from Kandahar province toward Kabul when it veered off the road in the Arghandi area of Kabul city.


This incident occurred while just last week, another deadly traffic accident on the Herat-Islam Qala route claimed the lives of approximately 80 people.


It is said that the lack of effective traffic regulations, poor road conditions, and substandard driving on Afghanistan’s highways are the main factors contributing to the increase in road accident casualties.

Local sources in Kabul say that following the overturning of a 580-type passenger bus in the Arghandi area, dozens of people have been killed and injured.
