Former National Security Director: Consequences of Afghanistan's collapse will affect the region

He emphasized that the countries in the region will bear the consequences of Afghanistan's fall.

Mr. Seraj made these remarks on Thursday (20 Sunbula) at the academic-research conference "Assessing the Impacts of the Fall of the Afghan System" at Brunel University in London.

He added that the consequences of Afghanistan's fall are severe, and regional countries will incur significant costs in the long term.

The former head of National Security, referring to the challenges of the republic era, said: "In recent years, we faced difficulties in understanding ourselves and the enemy."

Seraj also noted that Afghanistan's security forces have suffered countless casualties and were exhausted from this battle. He warned about the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan, stating that this situation is catastrophic for the country's people in the short term and, in the long term, the region will also pay a heavy price.

Ahmadzia Seraj, the former head of Afghanistan's National Security, has warned that the threat of terrorist groups will not be confined to Afghanistan's borders.
