Isfahan Governor: Two thousand Afghan migrants are being deported from this province every day

According to him, Isfahan is one of the main destinations for Afghan migrants in Iran, and about 430,000 of them are living in this province without documentation.

Based on Iranian media reports, the population of Afghan migrants in Isfahan province is estimated to be around 600,000, of whom between 420,000 and 430,000 lack residency documents.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation also announced on Thursday that the Islamic Republic of Iran has forcibly returned approximately one million and 800,000 Afghan migrants to the country over the past three months.

Previously, the office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) stated in a recent report that former government officials, former military personnel, civil activists, journalists, and human rights defenders who are forcibly returned to Afghanistan face retaliation, torture, and detention by the Taliban.

This comes as the deportation of Afghan migrants from Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey has significantly increased in recent months.

The Governor of Isfahan has announced that approximately two thousand Afghan migrants are being returned from this province to Afghanistan daily.
