Deportations of migrants continue; Taliban report return of over 711,000 from Iran in one month

Ahmadullah Muttaqi, the head of the Taliban’s Department of Information and Culture in Herat, announced on Wednesday (1 Asad) that these migrants entered Herat through the Islam Qala border.

According to Muttaqi, of these, 293,621 returned voluntarily, while 417,487 were forcibly deported.

He added that on Tuesday alone, 13,959 migrants entered the country from Iran.

He also claimed that returnees are provided with services such as the distribution of bread and cash, temporary accommodation, transportation, and regular healthcare services; however, reports indicate that the Taliban has not taken any effective measures in this regard.

It is worth noting that thousands of Afghan migrants are forcibly deported from neighboring countries and returned to the country daily.

The Taliban’s Department of Information and Culture in Herat has announced that 711,108 Afghan migrants have returned to the country from Iran over the past month.
