Justice for Afghan Women; Taliban leaders to be tried in Spain today

This people's court will be held today (Wednesday, 16 Mehr) in Madrid, the capital of Spain.

The purpose of holding this court is to investigate and document the violation of women's rights in Afghanistan following the Taliban's takeover.

The public trial sessions of the Taliban are organized by four civil and human rights organizations: "Rawadari," "Afghanistan Human Rights and Democracy Institute," "Research and Development Organization," and "Human Rights Defenders Forum."

These organizations have described the purpose of holding the people's court for Afghan women as a pathway to seeking justice and holding the Taliban accountable.

Taliban leaders will be tried for the suppression and violation of the rights of Afghan women and girls.

Dozens of judges, prosecutors, victims, and human rights activists have arrived in Madrid, the capital of Spain, for the first session of the people's court for Taliban leaders.
