Continued deportation of migrants; Taliban announce return of 4,000 Afghan refugees from Iran

According to the commission's announcement, these migrants entered the country on Friday, 17 Asad, through the Islam Qala and Pul-e Abrisham border crossings.

The detention and deportation of Afghan migrants have been carried out at an unprecedented level from neighboring countries, particularly Iran, over the past few months and continue to this day.

The International Organization for Migration previously expressed concern about the mass return of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries, calling for the immediate provision of financial resources to the organization to address the needs of returnees.

According to this organization, since September 2023, more than four million people have returned to the country from Iran and Pakistan.

The Taliban High Commission for Addressing the Problems of Afghan Migrants has announced that at least 3,988 Afghan migrants were deported from Iran and returned to the country in a single day.
