Former police officer killed in Kabul

Samim Naeemi, his brother, told "the media" that Abdulwali had returned to the country shortly before mid-August 2025. Just two days later, coinciding with their father's passing, he was detained by the Taliban and subsequently disappeared. The Naeemi family searched for him for nearly two weeks until they finally found his body at the Kabul forensic medicine department.

According to his family, officials at the forensic medicine department reported that his body had been brought to the facility a few days earlier; however, they provided no explanation regarding the circumstances of his death. Samim Naeemi claims that his brother was first imprisoned and tortured, then killed.

Abdulwali Naeemi was originally from Panjshir and, after completing his military training in 2016, joined the special police unit in Parwan. He served for a time in the Ghorband district and, in the final days before the fall of the previous government, was serving as the deputy of the 11th police district.

He leaves behind three young children and a pregnant wife who is facing significant hardships.

The Taliban have not yet issued any response regarding this matter.

Sources confirm that Abdulwali Naeemi, a former officer of the special police forces, was killed in Kabul after returning from Iran.
