Trump: The US 'foolishly' lost some of its military equipment in Afghanistan

Trump added: "In my first term as president, we rebuilt the military and spent trillions of dollars; but we lost a portion of those very assets in Afghanistan because incompetent people were in charge."

He had previously spoken multiple times about the leftover American equipment and the abandonment of Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, warning that he would reclaim those weapons. In the month of September as well, Trump had said that the Biden administration left the equipment for the Taliban, and now the Taliban parade with it every year in "a distasteful display"—a matter that, according to him, is "unbearable." Trump also believes that this equipment could have been transferred to Pakistan.

In response, Taliban officials have rejected these claims and stated that the equipment currently in their possession is "war booty" and that they have no intention of handing it over.

Donald Trump, President of the United States, once again criticized the abandonment of U.S. military equipment in Afghanistan during his meeting with Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. He said the United States had "foolishly" lost a portion of its equipment because "ignorant individuals" were running the country.
