Former CIA official claims: Taliban block Afghan internet to transfer foreign fighters

wrote on Monday evening, 7 Mehr, in a post on the social media platform "X" (formerly Twitter) that this action coincides with the Taliban's negotiations with the United States and is aimed at gaining Washington's approval.

She emphasized that the international community should use satellite imagery to document these movements and put pressure on countries that ignore the threat posed by terrorist networks.

According to her, the Taliban lack the ability to govern the country, and their primary focus is on supporting terrorist groups. Adams called for an immediate halt to U.S. financial aid to the Taliban.

These statements come as a nationwide internet blackout in Afghanistan began on Monday afternoon, sparking widespread domestic and international reactions. Many organizations advocating for freedom of expression and human rights have warned that this Taliban action, in addition to violating the right to free access to information, could have serious security and humanitarian consequences.

Sara Adams, a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer, has stated in response to widespread internet blackout in Afghanistan that the Taliban have blocked the internet to conceal the process of transferring foreign fighters from Bagram to "terrorist camps."
